This is a LegalHack@OKCon 2013 challenge
Swiss Courts
Design a portal for information about Swiss legal courts based on open data: basic information, national hierarchy (if there is any), judges and their association with the individual courts, history of cases, trials and the resolutions (judges and courts involved, timeline), and explore ways of linking this to external data sources such as media and social coverage.
Hackathon goals
- Read and organize open data about Swiss courts
- Discuss and plan technical solutions to the portal
- Create a basic design for the Web application
- Implement the database, and put the site online
Reference links and data sources:
- CANTONS Overview Courthouses (any courts)
- An inspiration for this project is the Open Courts website from Slovakia (Google Translated), which provides easy access to profiles of judges, courts as well as more than 500k rulings, all of them searchable.
