This is an old revision of the document!

Historical photographs are living witnessing a distant past. Uster, the third largest city in the Canton of Zürich, with over 30 000 inhabitants, is one of the twenty largest cities in Switzerland. The photographs of Julius Gujer (1893-1909), an entrepreneur and gifted photographer, offer an insight into the industrial development of a small Swiss town at the turn of the century. A large collection of 492 of his photos has been made available by the city of Uster on the occasion of the first Zurich Archival Hackday on June 9th, 2017, at the state archives of the Canton of Zurich. 16 random photos drawn from this repository have been turned into an online game application.

Uster Memory 1.0

Uster Memory is a fully playable tile-matching game coded in HTML 5. It offers both a gallery and a game mode, allowing the player to select a photo and, by clicking on its center, start the game. Look for identical tiles by turning them one by one. As soon as a pair is found it will remain open. Once all matching tiles are found, the game will store the number of moves and return into gallery mode.
