Historical photographs invite present-day viewers to closely look at these images witnessing a distant past. Uster, the third largest city in the Canton of Zürich, with over 30 000 inhabitants, and is one of the twenty largest cities in Switzerland. Julius Gujer (1893-1909), an entrepreneur and a gifted photographer, offer an insight into the industrial development of a small Swiss town at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. A large collection of 492 of his photos has been made available by the city of Uster on the occasion of the first Zurich Archival Hackday on June 9th, 2017. 16 random photos drawn from this repository have been turned into an online game application.

Uster Memory 1.1

Uster Memory is a fully playable tile-matching game coded in HTML 5. It offers both a gallery and a game mode, allowing the player to select a photo and, by clicking on its center, start the game.
