====== Election Hackdays ====== Election day in Switzerland is coming up this fall, and we’ll put politics and election data at the centre of the next MAKE.Opendata.ch hackathon. Designers, programmers, journalists, specialists and citizens of all backgrounds will be working on useful app ideas, interesting visualizations and new datasets for the Federal Elections during this two day workshop. The Federal Elections Hackday will be held on **September 4 and 5, 2015**, at two venues in parallel: the offices of Neue Züricher Zeitung (NZZ) in **Zurich** and Le Temps in **Lausanne**. Developers, designers, hacks and hackers will be working with open data on the subject of politics and elections. Participation is free of charge. The hackdays start on Friday, 4th of September, at 9 o’clock and end with final presentations the next day at 16 o’clock. ====== Results ====== * **CHParlScraping** Aggregate data to explore questions about the Swiss parliament. * **Foreigners vote** / 25prozent.ch / Foreigners can also vote in these virtual Swiss elections. * **InterestFinder** Candidates, deputies and lobbyists commercial interests cross-checked with official interest registry, then vizualized and analysed. * **KandiDaten** Linking political promise to facts for crowdsourced, more direct, accountability. * **Komitees im Parlament** A web application that adds transparency to the influence of various parties and cantons to the Committees of the Swiss Parliament. * **Political Sentiment Gauge** Tinder for Politics: a web service and mobile app for expressing crowdsourced sentiment on political topics/issues. * **Politweets** A political quiz which is based on Tweets from French-speaking candidates of the main political parties in Switzerland. * **StimmenZähler** Monitoring results for each candidate as soon as the Statistical Office of the Canton of Zurich has released the counting of a constituency. * **The Twitter Parliament** We record the digital traces of Swiss parliament members in Twitter, quantifying their behavior over time. * **Voting Preferences** Visualise relationships between income/wealth and party preference, mapping the Swiss political landscape with statistics. * **Was wäre wenn Wahlen** An interactive tool to explore What If?-scenarios, such as what would happen if only women or young people would go to vote, based on 2015 party sympathies. ====== Coverage ====== Follow our hashtag #makeopendata on Twitter.
